Executive Summary of Proposed Bylaws Changes

Your Briar Hill board has worked with Hirzel Law (top condo and real estate law firm) to create an updated bylaws document for your consideration and approval. The proposed bylaws will:

  1. Update references in the bylaws to reflect present laws and reduce confusion.

  2. Change the quorum provisions for voting at annual meetings from 30% to 20%. Note: Briar Hill has never achieved a quorum at an annual meeting!

  3. Establish rental rules to maintain our neighborhood of owner-occupied homes.

  4. Other changes were made on the advice of legal counsel as “best practices” and to enhance association and homeowner legal liability protections.

  5. BTW: the proposed bylaws provisions about pets have not been changed.

The Briar Hill board and its committees are made up of unpaid volunteer homeowners whose goal is to improve our neighborhood and nurture a sense of community.
